A READING-based law firm has said that its property business is booming, with new instructions for conveyancing increased by almost a fifth on this time last year.
In a statement released last week, Blandy & Blandy LLP added that Brexit uncertainty hadn’t affected its residential property team, stating that in the eight months to the end of February, each of its advisers had started work on 19% more files than the equivalent period last year.
Team head and associate solicitor Manisha Bhula said: “2018 proved to be another successful and extremely busy year for our hardworking and dedicated Residential Property team.
“While uncertainty is undoubtedly having an impact on the property market and the speed at which some deals progress, our offices in both Reading and Henley-on-Thames have continued to see plenty of activity, with a growth in deals involving multi-million pound properties over the past 12 months.”
They continued: “We continue to work closely with, and to be recommended to clients by, leading estate agents in and around both towns and greatly value these relationships.
“We are committed to providing our clients with clear, practical and effective legal advice, a responsive and highly personal service and, crucially, value for money.”
Blandy & Blandy added that last year’s annual feedback survey found that 99% of the nearly 400 clients who participated would recommend the firm to others.
