Bohunt School Wokingham Community Association (BSWCA) is holding its annual Christmas Market on Thursday, November 21.
BSWCA is run by a group of volunteer parents, whose aim is to support the school and raise funds to enhance students’ education. It is similar to a PTA but with the added benefit of being able to bring the community together as well.
As both the school and new community grow, it is an objective of the BSWCA to enhance the relationship between both by creating fun and engaging social events.
The BSWCA holds a number of events throughout the year, which the local community is invited to such as a Family Bingo Night, a Quiz Night, Christmas Wreath Making and next Thursday’s Annual Christmas Market.
It is important to the BSWCA to support local independent traders and therefore the Market has over 30 of these stalls for the evening selling a wide variety of gifts and other festive treats.
What is also important is that the Market supports the young entrepreneurs of the school including the opportunity for those pupils fundraising for the upcoming World Challenge they are due to embark on in 18 months – students have been working hard to create good quality and value for money items to sell at the event.
With such a variety of stalls, hot and cold refreshments (including Mulled Wine, of course) and festive chorus from the choir and other performances from the school, this event is a great way to tick off a few presents from the Christmas list and at the same time support the local children and businesses.
