A MAN has been charged following reports of an assault on a pupil at one of the borough’s secondary schools.
Rainier Amara, 44, of Primrose Lane, Winnersh, has been charged with one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Police were called to the Holt School in Holt Lane on Tuesday afternoon around 3.40pm.
The victim, a 14-year-old girl, sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 17-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of threatening to damage/destroy property. He has been released under investigation.
Mr Amara has been released on bail to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court on July 19.
Co-Headteachers, Anne Kennedy and Katie Pearce, sent a letter to parents.
It read: “This is a completely isolated incident which is now in the hands of the police.”
