A man has died in Shinfield after a caravan caught fire.
Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene of a fire in Linden Road, Shinfield on Friday, June 12 at 5.56am.
Neighbours called the fire service to the scene of a caravan that was ablaze. Thames Valley Police (TVP) were at the scene of the fire at 6am.
A man was declared dead at the scene, his next of kin have been informed. TVP have said that the cause of the fire is yet to be established and the death is unexplained
Investigating officer, Det Sgt Emma Smith of Force CID based at Reading, said: “I would like to reassure members of the public that we are working hard with Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause of the fire.
“Obviously if anyone has any information about the fire then we would urge them to call police via 101.

“There is still a scene watch in Linden Road and I would like to thank local residents for their patience and cooperation while we continue to investigate the fire.
“A man was sadly declared deceased at the scene and his next of kin have now been informed.”
