A man charged with public order offences will appear in court today.
Kurk Wood, aged 56, of no fixed abode is alleged to have disturbed yesterday’s two minute silence outside Wokingham’s Town Hall and was arrested by Thames Valley Police officers.
He is due to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court today.
In a statement, Thames Valley Police said Mr Wood was “charged yesterday with one count of using threatening / abusive words / behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
“The charge is in connection with an incident in which an Armistice Remembrance ceremony was disrupted yesterday in Market Place, Wokingham.”
The two-minute silence took place at 11am yesterday and was marked by many Wokingham residents, who are pictured. Mr Wood is not in the picture.
