A MAN from Earley has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a hit-and-run collision in East Reading last weekend.
At around 1.50am on Saturday morning (26), a man was crossing London Road near Amity Road when a dark car hit struck before driving off.
The victim, who is in his thirties, was seriously injured and taken to hospital where he is currently being treated.
Following an appeal by police for witnesses, a 43-year-old man from Earley has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He has been released on bail until March 28.
Insp Gavin Biggs of Roads Policing department said: “A man has been very seriously injured in this collision. The driver of the vehicle that inflicted the damage on him has left the scene seemingly without a thought for the victim.
“We are keen to hear from anyone in the Reading or Berkshire area who has seen a dark-coloured car with front end damage – damage that was not there before Saturday.”
