POLICE were called to Finchampstead last night after a man suffered a head injury during an assault.
It is believed that a hammer was used in the attack on the man, which took place inside a home in Ditchfield Lane.
Thames Valley Police said they were called shortly after 8.30pm on Thursday, March 2.
The victim’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and he was treated in hospital.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers attended the scene and the victim, a man aged in his thirties, had sustained a head injury which is not believed to be life-threatening and was taken to hospital.
“Detectives are investigating what they believe to have been a targeted incident of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. Officers remain in the area and a scenewatch is currently in place.
