IT’S A HIT, but you won’t find anyone singing its praises out loud.
One of the most popular activities at Marvellous is its Silent Disco – a whole marquee devoted to dancing to music that no one else can hear.
The tent is a chance to get away from the main stage and Wokingham Music Club stage to enable people to enjoy the sound of music.
There are several channels available on the special headphones, meaning that friends can be dancing to different bands and no one is any wiser.
Organisers said: “We are very happy to be bringing you this great entertainment for Marvellous 2019.
“The Silent Disco marquee was a massive hit with both our younger and – should we say – more adult crowd in 2018 and if you’ve never tried it before then you are in for a treat.
“Once inside the marquee, you’ll be greeted by the sight of people dancing (and singing along) seemingly out of time and with random lyrics.
“However, you will be provided with a pair of wireless headphones, through which you will have a choice of three separate channels of music – different genres – which you can select and change with a switch on the headphones.
“To an onlooker, you all look (and sound) deranged, but we can assure you it’s hysterical fun and once you’ve tried it you’ll be hooked.”
There is an entrance charge, but once paid allows the user to come and go as they please throughout the day.
It’s just one of the many attractions for the Marvellous Festival, which takes place in Dinton Pastures over the weekend of July 20 and 21.
The line-up for the main stage features a number of popular tribute acts including; Platinum ‘The Live ABBA Tribute Show’, Bon Giovi and The Brian Adams experience, to name but a few. Attendees can also support local bands over at The Wokingham Music Club stage including; Selina & The Howlin’ Dogs, Syn City Rockers, Forays and many more.
