A SPECIAL Sunday market is coming to Wokingham this weekend – it’s a celebration of all things vegan.
To celebrate the brand-new event, which will run on a monthly basis, it will be opened at 10am by actor, television and radio host, animal activist, charity founder and award-winning model, Victoria Featherstone Pearce.
A passionate vegan who founded dog rescue charity K-9 Angels, she was voted Europe’s sexiest Vegetarian by PETA supporters and awarded ‘most inspirational person’ by the Passionate pink charity.
The vegan market will feature stalls selling a range of vegan food, cakes, patisserie, chocolate, skincare and eco-friendly gifts.
Organisers Sparkle Vegan Events say that there will also be live music by local singers and bands; and entertainment for children. There will also be freebies and giveaways to the first 60 attendees.
Sarah Zeneli, from Sparkle Vegan Events, says: “Wokingham is celebrating the 800th Anniversary of their Market Charter this year, so bringing a vegan market to the town is a fantastic way to celebrate the change of times.
“There will be delicious food, scrumptious cakes, cruelty-free products, zero waste gifts, live music, children’s characters, information on veganism and much more.
“It’s not to be missed.”
The market takes place in Market Place, just outside Wokingham Town Hall, on Sunday, October 13, from 10am to 2pm.
