AS FANS of Australian soap operas know, everyone needs good neighbours and residents of one of Wokingham’s new housing estates had the chance to make their perfect friends on Saturday, July 20.
Developer Crest Nicholson organised a special get-to-know-you barbecue for residents of Mulberry View, which is being constructed off Bell Foundry Lane.
The development is a collection of one and two-bedroom apartments and two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom houses, and many have already sold.
With residents now moving in, Crest Nicholson was keen for the new residents to become to get to know each other and know that next door is only a footstep away.
The event saw pulled pork burgers, German sausage hot dogs and grilled halloumi burgers served from Bavarian Grill. Youngsters could have their faces painted and Wokingham Borough Council was on hand to talk about its services to residents.
And cold drinks were served by Crest’s representatives.
To cap off a special event, Wokingham Borough Mayor Cllr Bill Soane popped in, and greeted the happy families.
