ROCK superstars Muse have been announced as the first headliners of next year’s Reading Festival.
The trio – comprising lead guitarist Matt Bellamy, drummer Dom Howard and bassist Chris Wolstenholme – will return to the festival five years after their last mainstage headlining set in 2011. It will be their third time headlining the Bank Holiday weekend festival, and its sister festival in Leeds, and their sixth appearance ever.
The band said: “We’re very excited to be playing Reading and Leeds again. More news about our plans for 2017 coming in the new year.”
Festival organiser Melvin Benn said: “I’m thrilled to be able to announce Muse as the first headliner for Reading and Leeds 2017. Their incredible live show promises to be an unforgettable performance – we have so much more to announce and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line up.”
Also confirmed for Reading and Leeds 2017 today are Bastille, Architects, Against The Current, While She Sleeps, At The Drive-In, Danny Brown, Glass Animals, Major Lazer, Tory Lanez, and Andy C.
