With last Saturday seeing the hottest day of the year so far, many residents will be counting down the days until this Saturday – when a paddling pool opens for the summer season.
California Country Park in Finchampstead is home to the facility and this weekend families will be able to enjoy a splash about.
Wokingham Borough Council has been working to improve the outdoor space around Jackson’s Café and the car park. Upgrades include a new access road and some pergolas to provide all-weather sun shade or rain cover.
The paddling pool will be open daily from 10am to 6pm until Sunday, September 8 and costs £2.50 per paddler. Tickets can be bought via car park payment machines or from Jackson’s Café.
In a statement, Cllr Parry Batth, executive member for environment and leisure, said: “We’re delighted to open the paddling pool to Wokingham Borough’s residents in time to enjoy the sunny weather.
“In addition to the new pergolas, improved road and parking, what more could local residents want for a great family day out? The new and improved California Country Park is going to be a great place for all the family this summer.”
