A LOWER EARLEY superstore is currently undergoing a revamp as part of a £4.1 million investment programme.
Asda, in Chalfont Way, is currently eight weeks away from seeing the work completed.
Highlights include a new café, called Asda Kitchen, which will serve fresh pizzas that can be eaten in store or taken home.
There will also be a new sushi concession operated by Sushi Daily.
In what is said to be a unique experience for Asda customers, it has an open kitchen serving freshly made, convenient food with the excitement of watching it being skilfully prepared as shoppers watch.
The Sushi Daily counter has trained chefs and a team of Sushi Artisans who expertly transform whole salmon into perfectly rolled sushi.
Customers will be able to choose from a menu of more than 100 sushi products and order big sharing platters to be freshly made whilst they shop.
There will also be revamps to Asda’s George clothing department so it can feature extended ranges, and include new visual TV screens allowing shoppers to browse and view the latest trends and fashion must-haves.
Richard Tyler, the store manager at Asda Lower Earley, was thrilled with the plans.
He said: “We’re really excited about all the changes and new offerings we are bringing to the store. It’s been long overdue and everyone’s working hard behind the scenes to ensure there’s minimal disruption for our customers.
“We hope the local community are excited for the new look and feel to the store, which we hope to have completed by mid-September and we’d like to thank customers in advance for their patience whilst we make these improvements.”
In addition to the above changes the store will also receive a new customer service area, improved counters and refreshed area’s in chilled, produce and frozen.
There’s also an increased food-to-go offering, additional pizza ranges and new customer toilets.
