A NEW tool hire store has opened in Wokingham’s town centre – but the company behind it has years of experience.
Hire Direct offers a wide range of tools and equipment that can be bought or hired, and is open to the public as well as trade customers.
It’s a new branch for the company, which also has an outlet in Ascot.
Based in the popular Station Industrial Estate near Wokingham’s train station, the new store is close to Halfords, Jewson and Wokingham Electricals, making it the perfect location for the DIY enthusiast.
Items available to buy or hire include saws, cutting devices and grinders, drilling and breaking tools, landscape gardening machinery, concreting, heaters and dryers, compactors, pumps, and building site equipment to cleaning and decorating tools.
The shop also sells a wide range of hand tools, protective clothing, blades, drill bit and contractors’ tools.
Tools can be collected and returned to the shop in Wokingham or delivery can be arranged. Plant hire is managed by the company’s Ascot office but requests for plant can also be arranged over the hire desk in Wokingham.
It can offer operated plant with CPCS accredited drivers for four to 14 metre telehandlers and nine to 21 tonne excavators.
“We’re really excited to be able to bring Hire Direct to the public,” said Mark Evans, Hire Direct’s managing director.
“While we have many retail clients that frequent our Ascot branch we feel this location will help more people learn about us – we offer a great service and it’s good for people to have more choice when they need to hire or buy tools.
The company opened its first branch in 1994 and has expanded steadily ever since.
The shop is open 7.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday and will also be open Saturdays with the hours to be confirmed.
Mr Evans said that trade custom is welcome and trade accounts can be opened subject to usual credit checks.
