WOKINGHAM recorded their third victory of the season as they condemned Dinton to a sixth straight loss with a 146-run margin.
Dinton won the toss and elected to field first and started quickly as they claimed an early wicket as Ben Green was caught out by Dinath Alwis from the bowling of Kelvin Burrows for a duck.
Wokingham captain Stuart Parsons was next to go for 21 runs as Burrows tallied his second wicket of the innings to make the score 38-2.
Danny Housego also scored 21 runs before he was bowled out by Muhaib Ur-Rehman with Wokingham on 65-3 and Dinton gained their fourth wicket as Michael Bates was dismissed for 17 with the score at 94-4.
Sukhmeet Kang came to the crease for the Oaks and put on some much needed runs on to the board and remained as the most consistent performer for the hosts and determinedly held on to his wicket.
Wokingham reached 153 runs before James Bird fell for 19 runs and Dinton then continued their momentum to gain two more quick wickets to dismiss Simon Myles for 2 and then Stuart Hayter for 0 with the hosts on 156-7.
Kang continued to bat an impressive innings as he finished on 76 not out as Wokingham elected to declare on 204-7.
Wokingham set out to defend their total and made an ideal start to their bowling as Myles got an early breakthrough to remove opening batsmen Bhavan Jeyanathan for a duck before Dinton’s opening pair were quickly diminished as Elliot Lloyd went for seven runs with the score at 13-2.
A blistering start to the innings continued for Wokingham with the hosts in complete control of the contest with Dinton in trouble on 37-6 as Myles picked up his fourth wicket of the game.
With victory in sight, Wokingham were clinical as Clark decimated the Dinton tail end as he gained four consecutive wickets, to take his tally to five. With Dinton on 52-9, they only managed to total six more runs before Clark bowled Ur-Rehman out as Wokingham sealed the victory, bowling their opponents all out for 58 after 34.3 overs.
Wokingham have now climbed up to seventh in the Home Counties Premier Cricket League Division 2 as they prepare to face Harefield away next weekend.
