A WOKINGHAM learning institution for under fives is celebrating after receiving a Good accolade from Ofsted.
The Bright Horizons Wokingham Day Nursery and Preschool was inspected on Friday, August 24 and was rated as ‘Good’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, behaviour and welfare and Outcomes for children.
Inspection activities included the observing the quality of teaching and support for children during learning both indoors and outdoors.
The pre-school said that the report noted:
- Good partnerships with parents and other involved agencies, ensure that there is targeted support for children with identified additional needs. This ensures children receive the support they need to be ready to move on to new settings.
- Staff actively seek, value and act upon parental feedback to help ensure that they effectively address areas for improvement.
- Children behave well because staff set consistent boundaries and value their views, giving them a real sense of belonging. They demonstrate good levels of cooperation and respect for others.
In a statement, nursery manager Samantha Smith said: “We are pleased that the partnership between parents and staff in terms of how we help children with their individual needs has been recognised in this positive Ofsted report.
“We will always strive for further improvements as we move forward.”
