MOVIE fans will be flocking to Dinton Pastures this bank holiday weekend for the return of the popular Open Air Cinema.
Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) has today announced plans to screen ABBA singalong Mamma Mia! on Sunday, August 27, and swashbuckling favourite Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on Monday, August 28.
Set against the backdrop of the country parks leafy surroundings, the films will the advantage of the late summer evenings, hopefully, the mild weather.
Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic, or tuck into delicious movie-inspired dishes provided by the Riverside Cafe.
On Sunday evening, the cafe will be serving Greek- style snack platters, Ouzo mixers and Santorini Sunrise cocktails to get film-goers in the mood for Mamma Mia!, while on Monday tasty Caribbean snack platters and rum cocktails will be on the menu.
Premium packages are available, which include a comfy deck chair or beanbag to lounge in, and a snack platter of food to enjoy before the movie. All tickets include a packet of popcorn and visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic and seating.
The films will start no earlier than 8:30pm. The start time may vary slightly depending on cloud cover on the day to ensure it is dark enough to see the full big screen experience. The movie screenings aim to finish at 11pm.
Standard ticket prices are £15 adults and £10 for concession, with premium tickets costing a flat fee of £24.95 per person. This is a family event, with the suggested minimum ages being 8+ for Mamma Mia and 12+ for Pirates of the Caribbean. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
