POLICE are appaling for witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously injured after a collision in a busy Wokingham street.
Around 3pm today, police were called to Oxford Road to attend to the collision which took place between the walker and a car.
While the driver of the car was uninjured, an air ambulance was called to take the pedestrian to the Royal Berkshire hospital where they remain tonight with serious injuries.
The person’s next of kin have been informed.
Police closed the road to enable an investigation to be conducted.
A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police told The Wokingham Paper: “Thames Valley Police was called to Oxford Road in Wokingham at around 3pm today following a road traffic collision.
“The collision involved a car and a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.
“The driver was uninjured.
“Anyone with information or dash-cam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference URN 918 (22/12).”
