A PENSIONER was hospitalised after being attacked in a Shinfield street earlier this month.
Now, Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses in a bid to catch the attacker.
The incident took place in Church Lane, around 5pm on Thursday, October 4.
The 67-year-old was shouted at by the attacker before the assault.
The blow caused the victim to fall to the ground, suffering injuries to his hand and face.
He was treated in the Royal Berkshire Hospital but has since been discharged.
Police said that the offender is described as a white man, with a stocky build, short dark hair and a clean shaven face.
He was wearing a blue tracksuit top and trousers.
Investigating officer, DC Robert Simpson-Jones, of CID at Newbury police station, said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this attack to please come forward.
