AN appeal for witnesses has been made following the attempted burglary of a shop in Wokingham last night.
At around 10pm on Sunday, a man was seen approaching a shop in Broad Street before trying to to force open the front doors with a tool.
The man then walked away, before returning a few seconds later to try again.
The shop’s alarm was activated, but the man did not manage to gain access. He then walked off along Market Place, heading back towards Broad Street.
The offender is described as a white man carrying a bag for life-style bag. He was wearing dark-coloured clothing including a cap, top and tracksuit bottoms that had light-coloured stripes running down the sides.
Investigating officer, Police Constable Paul Bentley from Loddon Valley police station, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information to call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101, quoting reference 43170269217.”
