A POLICE helicopter was pressed into action in the early hours of Friday, January 5 to help try and track down thieves who targeted a phone shop.
The helicopter flew over from the National Police Air Service HQ at Benson after being called on by members of Thames Valley Police.
They were investigating reports of a break-in to the Carphone Warehouse branch in Market Place in Wokingham’s town centre.
Residents reported on social media that there were woken by the chopper circling the area around 4.40am.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “This was a break-in to a phone shop on Market Place, Wokingham.
“If anyone saw or heard anything please contact the investigating officer C1953 Claire Morgan on 101 quoting 43180004122.”
