A POLICE officer from Three Mile Cross has been found guilty of sexual relations with a teenager.
BBC News reported that anti-terrorism officer Peter Drummond, 38, had made friends with a 14-year-old girl and used a variety of social media to contact her.
Drummond appeared in Truro Crown Court where he was found guilty of three counts of sexual activity with a child and not guilty of three counts of raping the girl.
The charges included twice having sexual intercourse with the girl at her home in Cornwall after speaking to her on Kik messenger, Snapchat and Skype.
He had previously appeared at the Crown Court on Thursday, February 14, where prosecutor Fiona Elder said that he had befriended the girl, who had anxiety issues, and used Snapchat mapping to find out where she lived.
BBC News reported that he is was said to have had sexual relations with the teenager on October 26, 2017 and again on November 17 that year, where is was alleged to have climbed into her bedroom via the window.
The court also heard Drummond is married, a father and had worked as a specialist officer with the Ministry of Defence since 2006.
He was sentenced to eight years for each count with all three sentences to run concurrently.
