On Wednesday 7th of December, joy spread in the air as Evendons Primary School’s choir sang to the LINK charity.
The Link charity aim to reduce loneliness, to promote friendship with older people in our community.
These are just a few of amazing songs they sang … Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, I Saw Three Ships, Shine Bright Like A Diamond and Man In The Mirror. As they sang, lots of smiles appeared again which created more wonderful joy at Evendons.
As the choir sang the people from the LINK charity could help themselves to refreshments (homemade mince pies, tea, coffee, blackcurrant squash, orange squash and biscuits.) It was so tempting to eat the food for our visitors, so some of us had a few sneaky bites and nibbles when everyone had finished.
As they sang Jingle Bells the people from the LINK charity shook their own jingle bells. It was absolutely magical. What was meant to be children just singing normally, was a totally different story as the voices of the visitors filled the air.
Although the choir did not sing on the TV or in front of anyone famous, they did achieve something …. happiness for people in their community at Christmas.
None of this would have been achieved without the skills and dedication of their amazing music teacher Lucinda Graham.
The Choir hopes to invite The Link to Evendons again this year to join in with a sing song.
