CALL me a Scotsman (which I am) but I do like a bargain. Call me useless at DIY (which I am) because I have no talent for house repairs.
So, when I see a property for sale at a reduced price which has also recently been re-roofed including new ridge tiles, soffits, fascias and guttering, all I can say is: “Och, aye, Jimmy.”
Which is why I was delighted to learn this quaint two-bedroom house in Gipsy Lane has come on the market. I love the location, just a short walk to the town centre and railway station.
Not only is the price reduced, but offers will be considered which is certainly worth considering if you are on the lookout for a tidy starter home or even downsizing.
The house has that special charm that only a Victorian terrace can offer and with the interior is splendid form, Queen Victoria really would be amused.
The location really is a winner and with lovely views across Langborough Park and your own enclosed rear garden, it is easy to think you are in a more rural location, instead of close to the heart of the town.
The two spacious bedrooms are bright and airy with a feature fireplace and wooden floors adding character and style often lacking in some more modern abodes.
The reception rooms are similarly beautifully light, so that even when the weather is bad, there is no room for gloom in these rooms!
The kitchen provides all the facilities anyone could need and is cosy and well tiled.
Gipsy Lane is undoubtedly one of the most admired and sought-after private lanes in the town, providing the peace and quiet homeowners require without feeling isolated.
With spring in the air, now is the perfect time to view this charming house and all it has to offer.
As a Scotsman might say: “Och, it’s a rare stoater of a wee hoose,” which roughly translates as: “I say, this is a beautiful little dwelling.”
It’s on sale for £360,000.
