A SPECIAL evening of music will be performed in a Reading church this weekend.
The Reading Bach Choir will be joined by cellist Stephanie Tress to perform Tavener’s Svyati, which sets a Russian Orthodox prayer for mercy to music.
They will also perform Bach’s Jesu meine Freude, said to be his earliest and most complex motet.
Also on the programme will be pieces by Byrd, Tallis and Gesuald.
It will be performed from 7.30pm on Saturday, April 6 at St Luke’s Church in Erleigh Road.
Tickets cost £15, £10 for concessions, £5 for under 18s. Children get in free with two adult tickets.
