READING ROYALS proved unstoppable at the National Synchronised Swimming Championships.
The stand-out performer was Mimi Gray, winning a clean sweep of titles for the second year running with four gold medals.
Madeline Staples won three golds while the club also clinched team titles in the age 12 and age 13-15 categories.
Eleanor Blinkhorn, Isobel Blinkhorn and Rebecca Saunders also took home medals from the competition in Gloucester.
“It feels really good to get another gold,” said Gray.
“The hard work, extra sessions and experience of international competition has really helped.
“I just went out there and tried my best.”
Staples added: “We started off as a new team, only three of us had swum together before and we’ve progressed a lot this year.
“I was part of the team that won last year as well so there was a bit of expectation.
“We just went out and did our best and score more than we expected.
“We didn’t realise we’d score that high so we’re all really happy.”
