DESPITE defeat on the final day of the season, there was plenty for the Royals women team to celebrate.
A 3-2 defeat to Chelsea in a compelling final game of the season saw Reading finish 5th in the Women’s Super League as well as reaching an FA Cup semi-final where they were unfortunate to suffer the heartbreak of a penalty-shootout defeat against West Ham United.
30-year-old Northern Ireland midfielder Rachel Furness, was voted as the fans player of the season for the 2018/19 season.
Top scorer Fara Williams, who was recently rewarded with a new one year extension at Reading, picked up the Managers player of the season award.
Meanwhile, midfielder Remi Allen was chosen as the players player of the season for her contributions in the 2018/19 season, which included a goal in Reading’s 3-2 victory against Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final.
