READING WOMEN have made their second signing of the winter with the arrival of Rachel Furness from Sunderland Ladies.
Furness, 28, is a Northern Ireland international and follows Holland captain Mandy van den Berg through the door as another experienced arrival.
She has put pen-to-paper on a full-time contract which runs until June 2018.
Midfielder Furness has spent the majority of her career at Sunderland across two spells and has scored 16 goals in 53 appearances for her country.
“Rachel is a brilliant addition to our squad and she brings with her great experience at both WSL 1 and international levels,” said manager Kelly Chambers.
“She has always had a big impact in games when we have played against her in the past and I know she will do the same for us.
“I’m really looking forward to working with her over the coming seasons.”
Furness was a regular for Sunderland during their WSL 1 campaign last season and featured against Royals on all three occasions they met.
And her new Reading team-mates have taken to social media to welcome the midfielder.
