WORK on gas pipes will see a two-week road closure on the Woosehill Spine Road from Monday, April 30.
SGN has announced a £1.6 million scheme to replace gas mains with new plastic pipes, which it says will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply to the area.
To enable the work to be carried out in safety, the junction of Old Woosehill Lane with the Woosehill Spine Road will be closed for up to a fortnight. Temporary traffic lights will also be installed around the work area as it goes along Reading Road.
In a statement on its website, SGN said: “We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This mean that when the work is complete, people will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for year to come.”
The company has arranged a drop-in session for affected residents. This will take place at Embrook Village Hall from 3.30pm to 7pm on Wednesday, April 25.
SGN will have members of its project team on hand to answer questions and explain more about the plans. Maps will also be available to inspect.
