ANOTHER set of roadworks will get underway on Monday as South East Water prepare to install a new pipe on the Reading Road.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place for up to 10 days to enable The Rise development to be connected to the A327 in Finchampstead.
Work will take place at the junction of The Rise and Reading Road to enable a special burst-proof water main pipe to be installed.
The pipe will be 124 metres long and the project is expected to be finished in November.
A spokesperson for South East Water said: “To connect our new pipeline to our existing water network, traffic lights will be in place along Reading Road (A327) between Monday 16 October and Friday 27 October.
“We know roadworks are frustrating but we will be working as quickly as we can to complete this work as soon as possible.”
“As a safety precaution for the public and our workforce, two-way traffic lights will be in place when we carry out our work at the junction with Reading Road.
“We have been working closely with Wokingham Borough Council and it has been agreed that a two-way traffic light system will not only provide suitable safety measures for the public and our workforce, but is the best method for causing as little disruption as possible.”
The company pledges that access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
Work will take place during normal office hours however some work may also take place at weekends.
