HALF-TERM fun is promised for visitors to Crowthorne thanks to a fundraising scarecrow trail.
Running from Saturday, October 26 through to Sunday, November 3, the event will see homes, schools and businesses around the village display their homemade strawmen based on a theme of film or TV characters.
Families are invited to buy a map for £2 from the Co-op in Crowthorne’s High Street or from Pinewood Cafe in the Pinewood Leisure Centre, Wokingham Without.
These detail the locations where the scarecrows can be found.
Participants can walk, cycle or scoot around the village to discover the displays, and then vote for their favourites. Those who hand the map in can also receive a treat.
Venues taking part include Crowthorne Library, Zappas and Prospect Estate Agency.
So far, there are 54 locations to visit, and the scarecrows will be on display from 9am to dusk.
The event is organised by parents of Hatch Ride Primary School children, with proceeds from the event going toward the school’s funds.
