THE HUNT is on for some of the borough’s most brilliant citizens.
Wokingham Town Council plans to celebrate Extraordinary Women at its Heritage open Day event on Saturday, September 15.
As part of its plans, it is intending to make a Wall of Local Extraordinary Women who have all be nominated by residents.
Each nominee will have a photograph and citation explaining what makes them so special.
Organisers are looking for women who have a connection to Wokingham. While the town council has found some, it is now looking for residents to come forward to do their bit.
Nominated women could be from the past or present, pioneers, employees, community leaders, mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters and friends. In all cases, they are women who have touched lives, are making a difference, have brought about change, or left a legacy that should be cherished.
To nominate someone email [email protected] with the name and reason why they have been nominated. Nominations should include as much detail as possible and include a photograph that can be used.
The closing date for nominations is Friday, August 31.
