A SPECIAL secret finale is being promised for this year’s Wokingham Winter Carnival.
The annual event will still be taking place in Wokingham’s town centre on Sunday, November 25, as normal, despite the ongoing regeneration works.
There will be a number of changes, such as the siting of the town’s Christmas tree, but there will still be an abundance of fun, a host of local charities and groups with enticing stalls and a whole host of entertainment to enjoy throughout the day.
The weather forecast is cold and, thankfully, dry but there will be plenty to warm the spirits as the day tackles its theme of Wokingham Through The Ages.
The carnival starts at 11am and ends with carol singing led by the town Mayor Peter Lucey at 4pm – with an extra special secret finale to the day’s events promised this year following the carols.
As always, the carnival will have stalls, entertainers and of course a special visit from Santa Claus: he can be found from 11am to 3pm in the Denmark Street Library.
Spread throughout the town and around the development, organisers say that the event promises to be wonderful as ever.
The main stage will this year be in Erfstadt Court with performances from Whistling Woodwind, Murphy and Farnaby Brass Band, Rock School, Sparke Band, Vivaldi Strings, Training Band, Watson Band, Mozart Strings, Andre Band and Youth Brass throughout the day.
Professor Crump will be appearing at 11.30am in the Library and Swank Comedy will be on walkabout from 12.30pm.
