AN ESTATE agent, a cricket club and a marathon see-saw attempt are just some of the groups and events listed for this year’s Twyford Together Community Awards.
A record number of nominations were received for the awards which take place on Monday, July 15 at Burattas in Ruscombe. The event which starts at 6pm is free to attend.
Gordon Storey, a member of the Twyford Together committee said he was delighted that more people than ever before were listed.
“These awards are our very own community Oscars,” he explained.
“They recognise the many great people, businesses and events which make Twyford such a wonderful village to live in.
“All year round, the people of Twyford go about helping others and raising money for charity. Our local businesses provide a first class service so it is right that we should honour them.”
Three companies have been nominated for the Edwin Ackers prize in the Business of the Year category. They are Grapevine Estate Agents, NW Property Services and Newdays Pharmacy
The Community Awards are sponsored by Westgate Electrical Services Limited, RG10 Magazine and Ackers Solicitors Ltd. Community Award finalists and winners have been chosen by a panel of independent judges who reviewed all the nominations from the public.
