SNOW is forecast for Wokingham this week.
The borough’s roads have been gritted as temperature plummet and now the Met Office is warning that some of the white stuff will finally head our way.
Although tomorrow is expected to be a cold day with temperatures feeling like they’re -4ºC, we have to wait until Thursday before we’ll see the snow.
And even then, it’s not likely to cause much disruption. The Met Office’s latest forecast says that it will rain from about 3pm on Wednesday through to the early hours of Thursday. The heaviest rain will fall around 6pm when the temperature is 3ºC, but due to wind chill will feel like -1ºC.
Then, if we’re lucky, on Thursday morning it will snow around 9am. The Met Office says there is a 60% chance that this forecast is correct.
At the time it will be 2ºC, but due to wind chill will feel like -2ºC.
It is possible that more snow will fall earlier but with temperatures above freezing it is unlikely.
With daytime temperature forecast to climb to 5ºC, the snow is unlikely to stick around for long, especially as the forecast for SUnday’s half marathon is a much warmer 12ºC.
