The Met Office is warning that more snow will fall across Wokingham throughout today, and that with the wind chill, it will feel bitterly cold all day.
Temperatures will stay just below freezing all day, but windchill will make it feel more like -9ºC.
The BBC’s weather forecast thinks there will be heavy snow showers up until 11am then smaller flurries, but the Met Office disagrees.
A yellow weather warning is still in place from The Met Office:
“Further snow showers or perhaps longer spells of snow are likely at times through Friday. There is an increasing chance that a further spell of more persistent snow may move north into parts of southern England, Wales and central England during the day. Icy stretches are likely on untreated surfaces.
“In addition, strong winds will lead to further drifting or blowing around of existing snow cover.
“Delays and cancellations to public transport are possible, as are delays to travel on roads; some stranding of vehicles and passengers could also occur.
“Some rural communities could become, or remain cut off. Interruptions to power.”
But things start to change from tomorrow, according to the latest forecasts.
It should be dry on Saturday, March 3, with patches of fog early morning.
Temperatures will be above freezing, hitting a balmy 3ºC, but again, windchill will make it feel bitterly cold all day – around -4ºC for much of the day.
And on Sunday there is the potential for freezing rain or sleet showers: early in the morning it will rain and feel like -1ºC – but as they day goes on, temperatures will reach 6ºC, and feel like 3ºC with wind chill.
Please note – forecasts can and do change regularly throughout the day.
