WHILE Wokingham Borough Council has been busy gritting main roads to protect them from snow, it has reported this morning that its bin lorries are not collecting today.
In tweets, the council revealed that the kerbside service had been suspended because of the wintry conditions.
Crews had attempted to collect waste but reported that the wintry conditions were making it difficult.
The council intends to catch-up on the collections over coming days, and that these could be on a Saturday.
It is advising residents to place waste to be collected as normal.
The tweets say: “Due to adverse weather conditions we’ve unfortunately now had to suspend collections. Our intention is to re-start on a catch-up basis.
“Likelihood is that your next collection will be delayed & may include a Saturday. Please could place your waste out as normal. If we can’t get to you please leave your waste out & we will collect it as soon as possible. Apologies for any inconvenience.”
And because of the snow, blue bags will not be delivered today either.
