A SPACE adventure is coming to town on Sunday with Darth Vader and his Storm Troopers attending the Wokingham Winter Carnival.
The Star Wars characters will be in the parade, and mixing with the public on Denmark Street, providing an opportunity for pictures.
The volunteer costuming group, The UK Garrison will be dressed as Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, a Shore Trooper and a Jawa for the event, ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in December this year.
“We are delighted that the UK Garrison are able to support us at this year’s Wokingham Winter Carnival,” said Sally Dowdle, Marketing Chair, Wokingham Winter Carnival Committee. “I’m sure that having the Star Wars characters attend the event will be a huge attraction this year.”
Other entertainment on the day will include Sister Ruth, a motorised singing nun with a grand piano; The Berkshire Maestros performing on the Rose by Oakman Inns stage; the Reading Scottish Pipe Band; The Royal Castle Jazz Band; Professor Crump and Morris Dancers.
There will be a funfair and a Santa’s Grotton in the library, as well as lots of different stalls.
A full programme can be found on the Wokingham Winter Carnival website www.wintercarnival.org.uk
