RUNNERS from across the county will again descend on Swallowfield later this month.
Now in its eight consecutive year, the annual Swallowfield 10+3 and Duathlon event will take place on Sunday, September 17.
The event is organised by Swallowfield Scouts with athletes including running club pros and fitness fanatics as well as newcomers and children.
From this year, runners will be given a chip timing for the 10k and duathlon races.
The 10k road race is open to anyone aged 14 or over, while the duathlon this year includes a 6.7k run through Farley Hill, 18.4k cycle across rural West Berkshire and 3.7k run around Swallowfield.
The 3k road race will take place through Swallowfield Park for those aged eight or over. Roads around the area will be closed as usual.
Anyone interested in volunteering to help set up beforehand, marshal around the routes, serve refreshments or help clear up afterwards should contact [email protected].
Online booking to take part in the event is open and available through www.swallowfield10plus3.com.
