WASHINDI Trampoline Club has cause to celebrate more success as they had participants competing in a trio of events throughout the last few weeks.
The first National League qualifier competition was hosted in Burgess Hill on 25th and 26th May. This was the first event of 3 to gain scores to be invited to the League Finals.
Bethan Gill and Emily Sherratt (19+ ladies level 3) Seren Duggan (11 – 12 girls level 3), Callum Gooding (19+men level 2), and Lauren Nield (13 – 14 girls level 2) all gained points.
In the 11 – 12 boys level 3 Kofi Elhaggagi took the gold podium place and his team mate Owen Whittall a very deserved 5th place. Both boys points gained points. Harry Slatter in the 9 – 10 boys secured a gold podium place but missed out on points due to an incomplete set routine.
Special mention to Lydia Osborn, Ellen Mapperley and Freya Marshall who all successfully competed new moves for the first time.
On 31 st June – 2nd July in Sheffield the second Spring Series Qualifier of the season
occurred. This high standard competition competing against the whole of England and Scotland saw Harry Slatter competing in the 9 – 10 years FIG Development section and securing a superb gold medal for first place.
Kofi Elhaggagi competed in the 11 – 12 years FIG Development section and secured an amazing bronze medal for third place. Both boys qualified for the National Development Finals.
On 7th – 9th June the qualifiers from the NDP events at the start of the year went to the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham to compete as part of the Southern Region Squad.
They were all competing of the Southern team for a placing amongst the other 13 regions but also for an individual place in the upcoming NDP Finals.
Fred Martin in NDP 2 11 – 12 years did a fantastic job in his first ever year of competing and gained a healthy 12th place. Anna Wessendorff in NDP 4 13+ girls and Seren Duggan in NDP5 11 -12years both had very stiff competition and did themselves proud with a 15th and 19th placing.
Russell Cooper in disability NDP 2 made the podium in 3rd place. Lauren Nield NDP6 11 – 14yrs, Thomas Hue Disability L1 and Masha Danilova in Disability 2 all made the NDP Finals qualification. With Thomas and Masha taking the gold podium placings.
