WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook celebrated their annual presentation day at Lowther Road with trophies being presented among the 45 youth teams at the club.
The Sumas currently a huge wealth of talent amongst their ranks at youth level with more than 45 teams at the club, starting at under 7’s and ranging up to under 18’s.
“It’s been another good year for the club both on and off the pitch and we haven’t been affected too badly this year by waterlogged pitches and games being postponed,” said Wokingham & Emmbrook Football Club Chairman, Steve Williams.
“We have over 45 boys and girls teams within the club from U7-U18 and once again we have been awarded this season the charter standard community status, one of the highest accreditations in grassroots football. We were also awarded the Berks and Bucks community club of the season.
“The big news this season has been obtaining the FA grant to upgrade the grounds here at Lowther Road to play step 5 and 6 senior football
“The growth of the girls section under Rob Turpin has been great again this year with a number of teams winning cup and league events.
“Our senior section has also progressed very well this season with both the mens and ladies teams even though we didn’t get any silverware this year.
“As always I must thank all the volunteers that make this club what it is today. The committee, managers coaches and parent volunteers, who without their support and help week in week out, the boys and girls of the Wokingham community would not be able to play football.”
