WOKINGHAM AND EMMBROOK have returned to The Gambia to provide children with football equipment.
Two years ago, the club sent some old kit to the west African country to boys from the Junction Baa Football Academy, a charitable donation set up by Hurst’s Anne Laleman, mother of former Sumas girls player Jaz.
After returning from delivering the kit herself, Laleman reported back that many of the boys had to play in bare feet and only had one football.
So the club set up a second deliver, which has just been made via Intersurgical, of more kit, boots, pads and footballs thanks to donations from the Wokingham and Emmbrook parents.
