THE WINNERS of a contest to design a poster for Woodley’s Winter Extravaganza were revealed on Tuesday.
The youngsters, all from Woodley schools, created artwork to promote the Christmas light switch-on on Saturday, November 24, and the annual festive fun day on Sunday, December 2.
And this week they were presented with their prizes: large copies of their creative designs.
The top two winners will also be able to push the buttons to turn on the Christmas lights in Woodley during the carol singing party from 4.30pm on November 24.
The event will see two sets switched on: the town’s lights and a special Tree of Light managed by Woodley and Earley Lions. There will also be seasonal refreshments and performances by Woodley Concert Band and Reading Operatic Society.
The winners were Roxanne Allen (8) from St Dominic Savio, Haleema Saeed (11) from Highwood Primary School and in joint third place Sasha Tarvin (9) from Southlake Primary School and Yvie Hardy (9) from St Nicholas CE Primary School.
We’ll print all entries in Thursday’s Wokingham Paper
