A CHARITY that helps Wokingham residents who would otherwise be on their own has launched a fundraising appeal as it prepares to move offices.
The Link Visiting Scheme will make the switch to new premises later this month and is looking for generous residents to help it meet its £2,000 relocation costs.
In a note on a special Facebook page for donations, it says: “We’re hoping you could help us with donations to help us cover our costs.
“This is an extra expense that we hadn’t budgeted for and puts pressure on our already strained finances so any help is welcome. With Christmas coming up and all the activities we have planned, we could do with covering this cost if possible.”
It says that costs include £500 on a professional mover, £300 for a phone line, £200 for new signs and £450 for new office equipment and furniture. There are also stationery costs.
The Link says: “Donations large or small are hugely appreciated.
“The Link HQ is a hub for our small team who are on a mission to reduce loneliness, promote friendship and improve the wellbeing of the older people in our community.”
