WITH the Met Office issuing a weather warning for strong winds on Saturday, March 16, railway passengers are being warned to expect delays.
South Western Railways has said that they are imposing a blanket 50mph speed restriction across its network, from 10am to 9pm as a result of the forecast.
A spokesperson said: “Passengers travelling on South Western Railway tomorrow (Saturday 16th March) are advised to check their journeys before travelling.
“With gusts in excess of 50mph forecast across the region tomorrow, these restrictions will be in place to keep trains running safely.”
People planning to use the railway network tomorrow can check before they head off by logging on to www.nationalrail.co.uk or www.southwesternrailway.com
