Trains between Wokingham and Ascot were delayed this afternoon.
Passengers faced delays of up to 30 minutes according to South West Trains.
The company, which operates the rail line between Reading and Waterloo revealed on Twitter that a fallen tree needed to be cleared from the line between Ascot and Wokingham, meaning that the line was blocked while the work takes place.
The tree may have fallen down as a result of this week’s Storm Barney.
The company originally tweeted an update on the work:
#Ascot NEW – we’re clearing a tree from the line between Ascot/Wokingham, lines will be blocked for approx 30 mins https://t.co/ULj75btDJq

But South West Trains later issued an update to reveal that the crisis was averted and trains are now back to normal, just in time for this evening’s rush hour.
#Ascot CLEARED Disruption caused by the earlier fallen tree has now ended. Services on the Ascot Reading line are now running normally.
