FINAL preparations are being made for a popular charity beer festival.
Taking place in the new venue of Stanlake Meadow Recreation Ground, the 10th annual Twyford Beer Festival runs on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8.
The event is an opportunity to try a range of real ales, ciders, perries and wines from a mixture of producers: both locally and from further afield.
Also available will be a unique range of gins including the intriguingly named Aber falls orange marmalade gin, as well as a pink gin which is being kept secret for the day.
To ensure the festival goes with a swing, there will be live music from local bands as well as fun and games and food stalls.
The event raises money for Orchid, a male cancer charity – more than £40,000 has been donated so far and organisers are hoping for more.
There is also a need for volunteers.
A spokesperson for the festival said: “Our new venue is just a four-minute walk from Twyford’s train station and this is hotting up to be the best-ever Twyford Beer Festival.
There will be great beers, smashing ciders, excellent wine, gin and lovely Pimms, all combined with an eclectic mix of exciting live music that runs throughout the day.
“But this fundraising event is only possible thanks to a great team of committed volunteers over the weekend. If you can help and spare a few hours on the Friday, Saturday or Sunday please get in touch. Contact [email protected]”
Doors are open from 5pm on the Friday night and from noon to 8pm on the Saturday.
