ORGANISERS of the Twyford Kids Duathlon have praised parents and volunteers for making the event such a success.
A total of 185 children aged between eight and 14 ran, cycled and ran again in the event on King George’s Field.
The duathlon was moved to Twyford following the success of the Twyford Kids Triathlon.
Ellie Barnes who runs the event said: “People in Twyford really get behind our events with yummy refreshments on offer from the Youth Centre and lots of local kids taking part.
“Yzette Shars organised a cake and drink stand raising £350 for the Brain Tumour Charity.
“I’d also like to thank our sponsors, Macbeth Insurance and Barracudas Activity Camp.”
And there’s more events planned for youngsters in Twyford: its Kids Triathlon takes place on King George’s Field on Saturday June 22, and the Donkey Derby will take place on Sunday, June 1.
