Are you interested in leading a local charity that really makes a difference to people’s lives?
Citizens Advice Wokingham is a successful and highly regarded local service, providing information and advice to help people resolve their problems.
The sort of issues we help with include benefits, debt, employment, housing and many other related problems.
We have an experienced and skilled trustee board which actively supports the Chair in the delivery of its functions.
The board is also complimented by experienced and high performing staff. For the last two years running the charity has also received the highest rating of all 5’s/‘excellent’ in its annual audit covering nine leadership areas including governance, financial management, operational performance, equality leadership and people management.
The Chair leads our Trustee Board, which takes overall responsibility for our organisational direction and focus. The Chair role is a strategic role and we are looking for an individual who can help us to continue shaping the charity for the future.
No prior experience of being a trustee is required. For more information, please get in touch.
Berkshire Youth is a charity first established in 1940, which serves, empowers and informs young people between the ages of 10 and 25.
We continue to support Youth Clubs, youth leadership and young people across the whole of Berkshire, providing training, working with local Clubs, offering activities, challenges and delivering projects that help young people make successful transitions to adulthood. We also support young people through mentoring in schools and detached work in communities.
We are looking for new trustees with enthusiasm and passion for our cause, with a commitment to young people.
We are a charity not a business, but we apply business principles. We are looking for fresh expertise and experience from a variety of backgrounds, including but not exclusively from the business world, to our charity. We want to expand the diversity of our board, in all meanings of the word.
Berkshire Vision is an independent local charity with more than 100 years of expertise and experience, that aims to enable and support visually impaired people to live safely and independently to enhance their quality of life.
Among many services we provide, we run seven social clubs which meet monthly and provide a variety of entertainment and outings. The Wokingham social club is held on the first Tuesday of every month from 2.30pm-4.30pm at St Paul’s Church Hall.
The club organiser organises and coordinates the club’s monthly activities, produces agendas (with the club secretary), chairs meetings and helps the club members make decisions, coordinates volunteers and represents the club to other people. You will need good planning and telephone skills, excellence at communicating with people of all ages and backgrounds, the ability to organise a social calendar and an understanding of activities that can be provided; financial abilities and understanding would be a bonus.
You will also be asked to attend two meetings per year of all Club Organisers.
