The Citizens Advice Bureau gives free, confidential advice on every subject from debt, benefits, housing and employment, to law, immigration and discrimination.
It is independent and gives advice in an unbiased way.
The Wokingham Citizens Advice Bureau is recruiting for several new volunteers. These include; Admin Support, Assessors, Advisers, Fundraisers and Research/Campaign volunteers. Training sessions are taking place from March to May, so please get in touch if you are interested in any of these roles.
Working alongside the Thames Valley Police Victims Hub, Victims First is dedicated to making sure that all victims of crime receive the support they need to cope and recover from the impact of their crime.
Victims First provides free emotional and practical support to all victims of crime, witnesses of crime and family members of victims.
The service is available across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire and can provide help regardless of whether or not the crime has been reported to the police.
They are looking to recruit Emotional Support Volunteers, supported by experienced Caseworkers. Training will be provided for all volunteers, in addition to ongoing mentoring and support. The role will require some travel as volunteers will need to meet victims in the community. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Volunteers must have a non-judgmental attitude, the ability to empathise with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, excellent listening skills, be reliable and punctual, be able to set and work within clear boundaries, be able to travel within the Thames Valley and can commit to a minimum period of 12-18 months.
Berkshire Demcare support clients with dementia by providing therapeutic activities.
They are looking for volunteers to help with activities at their base at Crowthorne Methodist Church where they meet and when they go out on trips. Volunteers must be approachable, friendly and reliable.
Help is needed on Mondays, Wednesdays and/or Fridays from 10am-3pm. Volunteers are welcome for a couple of hours in the morning, afternoon or over the lunchtime period. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
